If I ever have to choose a clothing item to wear for the rest of my life, I would most definitely choose a skirt. I feel that they are so pretty and versatile and have the ability to lift up your spirits. I’ve always loved skirts of all shapes and sizes(geddit?) and they have never disappointed me. Since I rave about skirts so much, I thought of dressing up in them for one entire work week and I feel so happy to have done it! My office is pretty chill when it comes to dressing up. We don’t really have a dress code so I had a lot of freedom to put my outfits together.  Here goes!

My Monday mornings are surprisingly very energetic and I feel very pumped for the week ahead. Monday blues is not really a thing for me, however slog-y Friday is a big thing in my dictionary. Black and white is all my all-time favorite combination and what better way to kick start the week with a crisp white shirt and some fun polkas?

I’m really into polka dots all over again and I’m so happy that I have this skirt in my closet.

I feel layering during summers is a very tough job but if done right, it can make for a  very cool fashion statement. I layered a white bralette over my plain black tee and added a denim, pencil skirt. To extend the idea of layering, I wore regular socks instead of ankle ones with my sneakers(which are actually my running shoes but I don’t really run so…). Both the tee and the bralette are very light so you won’t die of the heat.
tip – always layer with lighter fabrics, it’ll keep you cool and also won’t add any extra bulk

I wasn’t kidding when I said that I’m obsessed with polka dots. I bought this cute cropped top from H&M about a month back and have obsessively worn it since. To keep it very light and colorful, I added a cotton, fish cut skirt (which is from my wardrobe archives) and finished off the look with some nude ballet flats. It’s a very simple yet fashionable look and it makes me feel so happy and elegant in it.

If there’s any trend apart from polka dot that has my attention right now, then it’s big bold stripes! There was a phase in my life where I used to obsess with mini skirts, that obsession has now shifted to midi’s and so the moment I saw this skirt, I knew I had to get it! It’s safe to say that I love all colors but have a personal bias towards pastels so I decided to keep the look very, very simple with a white tank top and a blue striped skirt. To give this very safe outfit a fashionable spin, I wore blue gingham heels(which was actually my mum’s idea) and I love how it turned out!

Now, Friday is that day of the week where I just want to let loose and have fun. I paired a bright orange, pleated skater skirt with a blue floral high-low top and made it look like a dress. I generally tuck my tops in when I wear skirts but this time I let my top be as it is since it’s a little loose and flowy and that gave it the illusion of a dress. It was so comfortable to wear and the bright colors kept me from being lazy.
