Spring/Summer Beauty Essentials For Dry Skin

Hi, guys! I honestly think that spring has just passed in a few days and summers are already here and if you have dry skin just like I do, then you know it’s time for an updated skincare routine. Right now, my skin is going through a very bad phase where it’s just breaking out a lot and for no good reason. My skin had a reaction with one of the Holi colors and I’m still suffering which sucks but I have finally made a list of products that I use on a daily basis to take care of my breakouts as well as to protect my skin from the harsh summer heat.

Here’s what I use –

MOISTURIZER

Right now I’m using three different creams and I know it’s kind of a lot but all these creams work really well on my skin and do not have any side effects. I’m using them alternatively and they’ve been helping my skin a lot. I have really dry skin so a moisturizer is necessary even during the summer time.

I’m using The Bodyshop’s Vitamin E cream, Innisfree’s Orchid Enriched Cream and Boroline. I;m using three different ones but one cream works just fine. If your skin isn’t too dry then you can skip Boroline as it has a very thick consistency.

SUNSCREEN

I can’t believe that I went so many years without using sunscreen. Maybe because I did not go out as much as I do now(office, college, blog work) but it’s an absolute necessity and one should always carry a sunscreen in their bags. I get burnt and tanned really bad, so for me, it’s one of the most important things in my handbag. Currently, I’m using VLCC’s sunscreen and it’s been working really well. I put on my moisturizer first and then apply my sunscreen and that just does the job since the consistency of this sunscreen is a bit thick and it dries very quickly.

I’ve also been using the Neutrogena sunscreen and that too is an amazing product but it dries out my skin which is why I’ve not been using it for quite some time.

FACE MIST

Now, this is one product that a lot of people tend to overlook but I’ve recently started using one and I have realized its importance. A face mist is that one product that can help destress and refresh you. A few sprays and you end feeling relaxed and a lot more energized. I’ve been using Innisfree’s Green Tea Face Mist and it’s been working amazing well. It’s a hydrating mist which just makes it 2x times better!

WET WIPES

I’ve been using the Kara Skin Wipes For quite a few months now and I can confidently say that it’s one of the best product of the lot.  I just ran out of it yesterday which is why I don’t have a picture of it but you can find them at any drugstore near your house. I use it whenever I feel that my skin is getting a bit oily and I also use it sometimes to remove my makeup.

It’s definitely one product that everyone should carry in their handbags. Since they come in so many sizes, you will always have one that can fit into any bag.

TISSUES

I actually just keep a few in my bag to blot sweat. If you’re someone who sweats a lot then a dry tissue can come to your rescue. Fold it and press it under your arms to get rid of all the extra sweat and the odor. Keep it on for 2-3 seconds and you’ll be left with sweat and odor free underarms. You can use this trick for all your joints as well.

BODY MIST + ROLL ON DEODORANT

This one really doesn’t need an explanation. I’m obsessing over The Bodyshop’s Vanilla Mist since a year and a half now and my love for it just doesn’t get any lesser. It has a light fragrance and stays on for 5-6 hours. For my roll on, I use the Nivea underarm roll on which has a very strong fragrance but it does its job really well.

BODY LOTION

If you have extremely dry skin then you can use a body lotion first and then go ahead with a sunscreen. I generally do with a sunscreen but a body lotion works really well too. Just make sure you don’t use one that gets too sticky. I use The Bodyshop’s cocoa butter body lotion and sometimes Victoria’s Secret cherry blossom and peach body lotion.

ALOE VERA GEL

This is a miracle product. It works amazingly and equally well for your skin and hair. It soothes skin burns and rashes and gives a lot of moisturization. I use it every alternate day but you can use it daily.

I use Patanjali’s aloe vera gel but you can take it directly from an aloe vera plant.

NIGHT CREAM

Using a night cream daily can provide a lot of moisturization to your skin. You wake up with baby soft skin every day and that’s pretty awesome! I use the Fab IndiaVitamin E night cream on a regular basis.
